पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री नवाज शरीफ ने सुप्रीमकोर्ट का फैसला आने के बाद पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री शहबाज शरीफ नए प्रधानमंत्री होंगे। इस बात का एलान पाकिस्तानी मीडिया में हो गया है। शहबाज नवाज शरीफ के छोटे भाई हैं। नवाज शरीफ को शुक्रवार (28 जुलाई) को उनके पद से हटाया गया। नवाज को पाकिस्तान के सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पनामा पेपर में उनका नाम आने पर भ्रष्ट घोषित किया था। जिसका केस वहां चल रहा था। इस पर आज फैसला आया। देश के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने पनामागेट मामले में शरीफ की संतानों के खिलाफ भ्रष्टाचार का मामला दर्ज करने का आदेश दिया।
यह तीसरी बार है जब 67 वर्षीय शरीफ का प्रधानमंत्री का कार्यकाल बीच में ही खत्म हो गया। न्यायमूर्ति एजाज अफजल खान ने सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के कोर्ट नंबर-एक में फैसला पढ़कर सुनाया। इस मौके पर पाकिस्तान तहरीक-ए-इंसाफ कार्यकर्ताओं ने अदालत के बाहर जश्न मनाया। अदालत ने शरीफ को संविधान के अनुच्छेद 62 और 63 के तहत अयोग्य ठहराया। इन अनुच्छेदों के अनुसार ससंद के सदस्य को ‘ईमानदार’ और ‘इंसाफ पसंद’ होना चाहिए। न्यायमूर्ति खान ने कहा, ‘‘वह संसद के सदस्य के तौर पर अयोग्य ठहराए जाते हैं इसलिए वह प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय में बने रहने के योग्य नहीं रह गए।’’
सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने राष्ट्रीय जवाबदेही ब्यूरो (नैब) को भी आदेश दिया कि वह शरीफ, उनके बेटों हुसैन एवं हसन और बेटी मरियम के खिलाफ भ्रष्टाचार का मामला शुरू करे। उसने यह भी आदेश दिया कि छह हफ्ते के भीतर मामला दर्ज किया जाए और छह महीने के भीतर सुनवाई पूरी की जाए। रेडियो पाकिस्तान के अनुसार वित्त मंत्री इसहाक डार और नेशनल असेंबली के सदस्य कैप्टन मुहम्मद सफदर को भी पद के अयोग्य ठहराया।
